The company AEL FC LTD announces the completion, by mutual consent, of the collaboration with the football player Andreas Makris.
Andreas served AEL with dedication, professionalism and selflessness, becoming one of the footballers who consistently and proudly honored the blue and yellow jersey. As one of the captains of our team, he was a point of reference both on and off the field, representing the Limassol Athletic Union over time with dignity, ethics and a high sense of responsibility.
His contribution to the game was decisive. With more than 100 official appearances with the AEL emblem on his chest, he contributed greatly in difficult and demanding periods for our team, always giving his best and being an example of fighting spirit, consistency and dedication. At the same time, he had the honor of celebrating with AEL the conquest of the Cyprus Cup in 2019, adding his name to the successes of the modern history of our Club.
However, beyond his competitive value, Andreas stood out for his personality and character. His respect for the sport, his opponents, his teammates and the referees, as well as his exemplary behavior, were recognized in the most official way, when the Cyprus Football Federation awarded him the special "Fair Leader" award for the 2024-2025 season. This distinction, which was awarded following a vote by the referees, is the highest confirmation of the ethos, dignity and respect that have characterized his presence on Cypriot stadiums over time.
His presence and contribution to AEL leave their own unique mark on the history of the Club. Above all, however, he leaves having earned the respect and appreciation of all those who worked with him and all those who were lucky enough to watch him compete in the colors of our team.
We express our sincere thanks to Andreas Makris for everything he has offered to AEL and we wish him every success in the continuation of his footballing and personal career.
